After the two game home stand, Cortland will hit the road for three consecutive games against Syracuse, Binghamton, and Albany, respectively. Men’s Rugby Stumbles At Upstates

Posted on April 21st, 2009 in Rugby (Men's) by ClubManager

April 18, 2009
Rochester, NY

The SUNY Cortland men’s rugby club traveled to Rochester this past weekend to compete in the 2009 Collegiate Upstates Tournament. Cortland was put into a six team pool with the A-squads for Buffalo and Brockport, both NYSRC Premier D-I opponents. Cortland was shut out in both games, 17-0 to Buffalo and 29-0 to Brockport. Although disappointed with the performance, Cortland is already looking forward to a rematch with both squads in the season. Cortland will host three D-I contests in the fall: September 12th against Buffalo, September 19th against Brockport, and a late-season match against Premier D-I newcomer St. Bonaventure. All game times are scheduled for a 1pm start on the rugby field on the SUNY Cortland campus.
