Dragons Complete Sweep Of Rival Ithaca

Posted on November 12th, 2007 in Ice Hockey (Men's), Sport Club News by ClubManager

For the second time in 5 days the Cortland Club Hockey team upended their biggest rivals from Ithaca. In a game that saw one of the rowdiest crowds in team history, the team didn’t disappoint.

After falling behind 1-0 less than 2 minutes into the game the Dragons struck back, rattling off the next 4 goals. Goals were scored by Pat Sullivan (A: Shawn Pulvermiller and Ryan Edson), Andy Green (A: Rob Weilert, Mike Cerasoli), Mike Cerasoli (A: Kyle Smith, Andy Page), and Mike Madden (A: Shawn Pulvermiller).

Ithaca would crawl back into the physical battle closing the gap to 4-3 early in the third period, but in the end the Red Dragons proved to be too much as they got 3 third period goals from Smith (A: Cerasoli), Green (A: Cerasoli) and Pulvermiller (A: Weilert and Sullivan).

Earning his third straight win between the pipes was goalie Kevin Medrano.

The team looks to make it four in a row this Friday night against Penn State Berks @ the Alumni Arena. The puck drops at 8pm!!!
