Jamie Barrett scored his first career goal to secure a 5-3 come from behind victory for the Dragons over St. Bonaventure in an NECHL game. The Dragons trialed after the first period 3-1, with the only goal coming from Greg Huether (Assisted by Pat Sullivan). The team would play better in the second period, completly dominating play. However, Rob Weilert’s goal was all the team could muster. Chris Curley tied the game at 3 with a lazer like slapshot from the point (assist Mike Cerasoli and Andy Green). Barrett then took a pass from Dan Cook and put the shot between the goaltenders legs to give the Dragons their first lead of the contest. Pat Sullivan would finish the game off with a short handed empty net goal.
Goalie Kevin Medrano had another solid game in net making 20 saves to earn the win for the Dragons.

Upset Falls Short in Shootout Loss To #15 Niagara
In one of the most exciting games of the season the Cortland State Club Hockey team fell just short to nationally ranked Niagara 6-5 in a shootout. After falling behind by 2 goals early in the second period, the Dragons would not be phased as they scored 3 unanswered goals to take the lead. Goals were scored by Mike Cerasoli (Assist: Chris Curley, Dan Cook), Rob Dosch (Assist: Rob Weilert, Mike Metzen), and Greg Huether (Assist: Cook). Niagara would eventually take a 4-3 lead in the third period before Metzen tied it up at 4. With 5 minutes to play Niagara regained the lead again and it seemed to put the Dragons away. But the Dragons had one last goal in them. After coach Jeff Seakan pulled the goaltender Brent Davis hammered home the tying goal with 33 seconds left to play (Assist: Curely, Cook). After five minutes of overtime the Purple Eagles defeated the Dragons 2-0 in the shootout.
Kevin Medrano had his best game of the season stopping 39 shots and keeping the Dragons alive.

Goals-A-Plenty In Win Over Rival Cornell
One day after taking #15 Niagara to a shootout the Red Dragons took the ice for the third time in as many days at the Alumni Arena. In a rematch of the season opener, which was won by Cornell 7-5, the Dragons were able gain some revenge with a high scoring 9-8 win. Leading the way for the Dragons was freshman Kyle Smith with three goals and one assist. Also scoring goals were Andy Green (1), Mike Cerasoli (1), Greg Huether (2), and Pat Sullivan also had 2 goals. With all the goal-scoring that took place, it makes Brian Chorny’s 39 saves seem that much more impressive. Chorny made some huge saves down the stretch to keep the Dragons out in front. After the game coach Jeff Seakan said that “… this weekend gives us a ton of momentum going into the last month of the season. I’m very proud of the boys effort right now.” The Dragons record stands at 7-6-0-1.
Up next for the Dragons is a meeting with the Bearcats from Binghamton on Friday February 1st at 7pm in Binghamton.
