By now we have all heard of the tragic and devastating events that occurred Monday April 16, 2007 at Virginia Tech University. Perhaps you have been caught up in the countless number of news stories that have been displayed on our TV’s and computers. Most everyone has been left in a state of shock and disbelief and wondering, why? Others may ask how could this have been prevented? What more could the college administration do to prevent such an act? These questions may never be answered. The question that should be contemplated now is what can we do on our own campus that will help students and fellow faculty and staff deal with these events? What can we learn from this event and how can we apply it here and now?
