SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM:Â
The Student Affairs Faculty Connection Award was created to give recognition to one individual each year for establishing and maintaining significant connections with students outside of the classroom.

NATURE OF THE PROGRAM:
Persons who receive a Student Affairs Faculty Connection Award shall be appropriately recognized and rewarded. They shall be given recognition in the College Bulletin and the Connectivities blog. They will receive a certificate and a small memento acknowledging their achievement. Awardees shall have their name printed on a plaque to be displayed in a location chosen by the Vice President for Student Affairs.

ELIGIBILITY:
Nominations for this award must be drawn from SUNY Cortland individuals presently serving in full-time teaching positions during the 2008 – 2009 academic year.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
Nominees for the award should be individuals who have repeatedly demonstrated excellence in the following areas:
           · Providing a positive impact on students outside of the classroom
           · Establishing and/or maintaining opportunities for student involvement outside
              of the classroom
           · Demonstrating that they have ‘gone the extra mile’ in order to serve students

SELECTION PROCESS:
Nominations shall be submitted on the nomination form. Additional sheets may be attached. Nominations will be reviewed by the Student Affairs Faculty Connection Award Committee and a recommendation will be submitted to the Vice President for Student Affairs. The deliberations of the committee shall be confidential.

WHO CAN NOMINATE?
Nominations may be submitted by a supervisor, co-worker, other college community member, student or by self-nomination. Applications may be obtained by downloading the word attachment in this email or by visiting the Connectivities blog which is located at http://blog.cortland.edu/connections.
