Hurricane Ike forced the Houston Astros - Chicago Cubs game to Milwaukee today, but the travel didn’t bother pitcher Carlos Zambrano as he threw the first Cubs no hitter since 1972. Zambrano was down right nasty all day as he seemed to stiffle the Astro offense. Zambrano kept his cool the entire game, but collapsed on the mound after striking out Darin Erstad for the final out. Teammates swarmed and surrounded him, and the sparse crowd of 20,000+ (manly Cubs fans) showered Carlos with chants “Z, Z, Z.”

Alfonso Soriano homered in the first inning and Houston never responded as the Cubs won the game 5 - 0. Zambrano had ten strikeouts and one walk in the No-No.

Congrats Z!
