New England's Tom Brady (12) fires a pass downfield just as Kansas City's Bernard Pollard (out of the photo) hits his leg and buckles it. Tom Brady left today’s New England - Kansas City game in the first quarter with a left knee injury. The Pats recovered and won the game in Foxboro 17 - 10 behind Matt Cassel. But here’s the real story … after getting hit by KC Safety, Bernard Pollard, Brady did little to conceal the fact that he was hurt in his cool california style. In fact, Brady clutched his knee for dear life and screamed like a hell - not something you’d expect from a Belichick soldier.

The Patriots, in their usual fashion, did not divulge in any injury details. However, the New York Jets (my fav and former employeer ;) ) were seen and heard in their Miami locker room (after an unreal win!!!!) saying that Brady has a torn left ACL. Obviously making him unavailable for the week 2 match up between the Pats and Jets, but also making him OUT FOR THE SEASON!

I’m sure when the news is released to the whole world we can all hear the weeps from Foxboro and the jubilation from the NYC metro area … yes I can hear it now, the Jets will win the AFC East!!!! :D

ps - Prof. Dodds maybe we will see Brett in Tampa, not Miami! ;)

The Chick didn’t write this, ESPN did …

… “Bullpen Blowup

The Yankees traded Kyle Farnsworth on July 31, thinking their bullpen would hold up without the right-hander. However, things have not quite gone as planned — including Aug. 1, the bullpen has allowed three-plus earned runs in four of nine games, including nine runs in Saturday’s game vs the Angels. Here’s a breakdown:

Through
July 31
Since
Aug. 1
Games 107 9
WHIP 1.24 1.78

BRING BACK MY FARNSYYYYY!!!! :(

Also, some news outlets reported that the fan total at Jet Camp yesterday was anywhere from 7,000 to 10,500, but my aching, tired, worn-out, sunburned body will atest that the actual total was 11,523. Yes the media is always right ;)

A little while ago I wrote a post about a pipe-dream that the great Brett Favre could actually be wearing gang green. Last night as I was mid-dream I was woken up by my creaky door opening and my Dad and brother squealing, “Guess what happened?” Half dead I replied, “Brett Favre to the Jets for a third-round pick.” ;) See even in my sleep the chick can predict the future! haha

Ok so I was a round off, but it was true Brett Favre is now a New York Jet. And maybe just maybe all my 20 years of Jet fan misery will end not in heartbreak by the hands of Bill Belichick, but by the great Brett Favre holding up the Vince Lombardi trophy in Miami for the Super Bowl Champion New York JETS. See I think if I continue to blog about all my pipe dreams, then they will come true. ;)

ps- the Chick can’t wait to go to work on Saturday … being a Jets intern will never be the same!! :)

fav.jpgOk Ok I’m a Jets intern, but don’t look for inside info on the Jets here. I can say that ESPN.com is reporting that the Jets have received permission to talk to the great Brett Favre (as do the Tampa Bay “I Already Have 15 Million QB’s” Bucs).

Having Favre will just further confuse the entire Jets QB mess with Pennington, Clemens, and Ainge. But hey, If you can get Favre then DO IT!! The only thing is that supposedly the Cheeseheads want a 1st round pick and more in exchange, Eeehh! The Redskins didn’t have to bargain away a first rounder for Dancing Queen Taylor, so I honestly hope the Jets don’t wash away a good pick for the downgraded Favre. But what the hell do I know? I’m only an intern.

ps- don’t freak the pic is a photoshop dream! ;)

Hello all you Sports Chick Blog fans!! Now I know you’ve all be reading the blog this past week and there have been no new posts, but I had a good reason! I FINALLY took some time off and had a nice family vacation. Everyone in my family works hard in their own way, so there was a much needed vacation due! And where did we go? Disney of course!! And being the Sports Chick we stayed at the All Star Sports, If you wanna do Disney the Sports Chick way, then stay there! It was a blast!

But who the hell wants me to blog about my vacation??!! No one! So here it goes…

… About a month a go I mentioned that I will be interning with the NY Jets this summer. So two days ago set-up started (I actually missed the first day because I was still chillin’ with Mickey Mouse! ;) ) Anyway, I’m not the most athletic human being in the world so literally every effing muscle in my body is sore! There are muscles sore that I didn’t even know existed!!

But today was the first day of Training Camp. For the Jets it’s the last TC at Hofstra University. How ’bout a little history lesson? The Jets have had TC at Hofstra since the Joe Namath days. For my family most of our summer memories come from Jet camp. Just a few stories would be like you know how all the little kids ask for those dirty gross sweatbands that the players wear? Yea, my brother asked Keyshawn Johnson for his helmet! Key hysterically laughed and gave my brother a signed glove instead, thus leading my brother to get a couple more gloves every year from TC. There are millions of other stories I have from TC at Hofstra, but I’ll keep them to myself.

So given the oppurtunity to work the LAST TC at Hofstra for my favorite NY Jets was something I couldn’t turn down. It was too storybook…

… I will be working the very last one and that’ll be my top memory of Jets TC at Hofstra.

It seems like the tearing down of Yankee Stadium and the moving of the Jets to Jersey rips away my childhood. Not the fact that I’ll be graduating from Cortland soon. It’s the memories of those places and knowing I can’t make new one after 2008.  So a new category will be added to the blog “Jets Internship.” I try to post what I can from TC, and maybe even share a few more memories! ;)
