Multiple Home pages

As more and more information is moving into the myRedDragon portal; you may want to start making it a habit of logging into myRedDragon at least once a day.  An easy way to remind yourself is by setting myRedDragon up as a home page on your browser.  You can do this in addition to your other favorite sites.

eLearning for Faculty – Gradebook – Hiding Grades

There may be several reasons that you do not wish for astudent to know his/her grade immediately after you have entered it.  One may be that you are grading multiple essays and do not want one student to know their grade and then have another not receive a grade for several hours or even a day. 

To diminish this there is a way to hide the student grades until you are ready.  You can find the directions here: GradeBook-HidingGradesfromStudents

eLearning for Faculty – Extended Time Exam

If you are using the Assessment tool inside of eLearning you may need to extend the time limit for a studetn with a documented need.  You are able to do this without affecting the time limit for the rest of the class.  Please follow the directions located here.

eLearning for Faculty – Creating an Anonymous Survey

Surveys are anonymous tests in eLearning for which no grades are assigned but which provide you with statistics. Survey responses are automatically tabulated and the results are summarized.  Because the results are anonymous, surveys are ideal for course evaluations or for canvassing opinions on an issue discussed in the course.

SafeAssign™ is a plagiarism prevention service, offered by Blackboard to its Blackboard Learning System Enterprise, Vista Enterprise and CE Enterprise clients. This service helps educators prevent plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in educating students about plagiarism and importance of proper attribution of any borrowed content.”

You are capable of denying access to anyone listed in your eLearning room.  It is especially useful if you want to deny access to students before a semester starts or at the completion of a course.
